Kira Charleton

Singing

Hailing from Scotland, mezzo-soprano Kira Charleton is the winner of the Eileen Price Lieder Prize, the Mabel Linwood Christopher Award and the Harlequin Agency Award. During her undergraduate studies, she was nominated to represent RWCMD in the Junior Kathleen Ferrier Competition.  

In 2022, Kira made her debut with WNYO, covering the role of Masha in Cherry Town, Moscow (Shostakovich). Other operatic roles include Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Mother Marie in The Dialogue of the Carmelites (Poulenc) and The Duchess of Monteblanco in A Dinner Engagement (Berkeley).

Kira looks forward to making her chorus debut with Opera Holland Park for their 2024 production of Tosca (Puccini) and semi staged, Edgar (Puccini).
